KEEPING KIDS WARM

The Oregon Rotary Club continued this program this year to help provide coats and boots for children and families in the Oregon Community.  This year we were able to provide 124 pair of boots and 76 coats.  The majority of the Funds for this project came from the club’s annual Mark Twain Day (2nd Saturday in September) as well as additional designated club funds.

Thank you! to the community members who donated to this project.  In addition to the monetary donations received, which were a total of $500, there were numerous donations of new and gently used coats, boots, hats, scarves, gloves and other winter items.  Thank you to all who donated these items. Thank you to the Oregon Park District for providing for collection of items at Nash Recreation Center and to the staff there who washed and delivered items collected.  Thank you to Jan Pattat’s knitting group for the items they lovingly knitted for the children.
Gently used warm winter clothing and accessories of all sizes may continue to be donated at the Elementary School Offices or taken to Angel Treasures and other organizations that help provide for those in need of these items.
